Welcome to Yards of Sewing
Having recently returned from South Africa where I spent the past 25 years, I am delighted to announce the relocation and re-opening of the Yards of Sewing Studio in Stevenage (Herts. Uk). All our classes will be starting this on the 6th of January 2020.
You are welcome to make a booking for any of the courses before the opening date to make sure there is availability for the days and time you have chosen.
What is new in 2020?
Introducing basic sewing classes to teenagers between 12 and 18 years old has been one of my greatest wishes for a very long time. Many of my former students used to complain that the subject was no longer taught in their schools and wished they had access to it when they were younger. To be truthful, there was a time when sewing was also old-fashioned!! … and boring ….. However, nowadays, this hobby is considered as being a great money-saver. It can improve self-esteem, enhance individual creativity and be a great antidote to stress (which is, in my view, not enough emphasized!!). Sewing, however, is not just a fun hobby. It could also be the first milestone towards a career in the Fashion and Design industry or any other commercial enterprise of your choice.
My goal for 2020 is to assist all my students, of all ages, in creating their own wardrobe. I hope many of you will be sharing this wonderful and challenging journey with me and I look forward to meeting you.
