Sewing Machine – Complete Beginner

This class is ideal for persons who have never used a sewing machine or hardly know how to use one. It is a popular and useful short course if you are not sure if sewing is indeed for you or if you are unable immediately to attend further classes. The duration of the class is long enough to give anyone a feel of the machine and to gain enough confidence to tackle small projects at home on their own . Whilst practicing on the main basic features of the machine, students will complete a basic and simple project.

Skills learned:

• how to thread the machine and to wind a bobbin.
• to use straight stitches and zigzag stitches.
• practice sewing straight lines and curved lines.
• how to change the needle and to change feet of the machine.
• how to sew a standard zip and make perfect corners

Included:

Our customers can bring their own machine (please specify the type/brand of machine you own if you wish to bring it) and make sure it is in good working condition. You are, however, welcome to use all our equipment and sewing tools. Fabric, zip and matching thread are also provided . Tea and coffee also available.

Bookings essential. Classes available between 5pm and 9pm only, from Monday to Friday and all day on Saturdays.

Full payment , by bank, card or cash must be paid before or on the first day of the course.
