Stay comfy in October 2020
Even though many of you were hoping to return to the office before winter sets in, it looks like working @ home is there to stay for a while. A little bit depressing, I know. However, working from home does not mean you cannot dress up a little and cheer yourself up with ‘dressier’ outfits and brighter colors.
The oversized poplin shirt, with ruffles and puffy sleeves, are back. Turtleneck long tunic will bring comfort and warmth and will pair casually with a pair of wide-legged utility pants.
Some suggestions of New look patterns to make in October:
About your sewing space
If you tend to sew quite often and regularly, we recommend keeping your sewing space tidy and dusted every week. Summer is now over and it is time to do a bit of sewing room maintenance.
- Start by cleaning all your drawers, cupboards, and any storage space
- Throw away tools that are worn out and review your stock of pins, needles, etc…
- Make a list of notions, tools, and haberdasheries you need to replace or purchase.
- Descale and clean your iron.
- Unplug all the sewing machines and give them a good clean.
Tips for sewing machine maintenance:
- Use cosmetic brushes to clean around needle and inside bobbin case.
- use a soft cloth to clean outside your machine.
- oil regularly
- cover the machine when not in use.
